Steamed littleneck clams on the half shell topped with seasoned breadcrumbs and bacon.
Ingredients
- 1 dozen little neck clams
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Butter
- Italian flavored bread crumbs
- Raw bacon slices cut to fit shell tops
Steps
- Steam open clams in a pot in 1 inch of water, reserve broth.
- Remove clams from shell and save whole clams.
- In a separate pan, saute onion and garlic in butter.
- Add reserved broth. Stir in Italian flavored bread crumb to make a moist paste.
- Break clam shells in half, remove muscle and place clam meat on one half of a shell.
- Cover with bread crumb paste. Add small piece of raw bacon on top and place on a cookie sheet.
- Continue the same with rest of clams.
- Cook at 350 for 20 minutes or till bacon is done.
- Serve while hot.
