A classic moist banana bread with optional walnuts.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 1 cup mashed banana (about 3)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup nuts (optional)

Steps

  1. In a large bowl mix butter, sugar and eggs together, set aside.
  2. Sift dry ingredients.
  3. Mix dry ingredients alternately with butter mixture.
  4. Add mashed banana, sour cream and vanilla.
  5. Stir in nuts.
  6. Mix well and pour into a 9x5x3 inch loaf pan (spray with Pam).
  7. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes or till done.
