Overnight refrigerator roll dough that can be shaped into dinner rolls or cinnamon rolls.
Ingredients
1 pkg yeast
1/2 cup lukewarm water
1/2 tsp sugar
2 cups scalded milk
1/2 cup margarine, melted
1/2 cup mashed potatoes or instant potatoes, prepared
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
5 1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp soda
1 tsp baking powder
Cinnamon Roll Filling:
3 tbsp soft butter
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
Steps
Combine yeast, lukewarm water, and sugar. Let rest 5 minutes.
Combine milk, margarine, potatoes, sugar and salt.
After milk cools add yeast mixture then flour, soda, and baking powder.
Mix together and knead till smooth on floured surface.
Cover on counter and let rise 1 hr.
Knead down and place in greased bowl.
Put wet cloth over top and place in refrigerator overnight. This dough must rest overnight.
In morning, make into rolls and place on greased baking sheet.
Let rise until light.
Bake 375 degrees for 25-30 min.
Notes
For cinnamon rolls: Roll out dough into rectangle about 1/3" thick. Mix together butter, brown sugar and cinnamon till crumbly. Sprinkle on dough. Roll up, slice 1" slices and place on greased baking sheet. Let rise. Bake 375 degrees for 25-30 min.
