A layered bread and egg casserole with green chiles and cheese.

Ingredients

  • 4-6 flour tortillas, torn in half
  • 4 cups cheese, Monterey Jack
  • 2 cans green chilies, diced
  • 5 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup milk

Steps

  1. In a greased 9x13 casserole pan, place one layer of tortillas, then add cheese and chilies (and any options).
  2. Repeat layers ending with cheese.
  3. Combine eggs and milk and pour over everything.
  4. Let set 30 min or overnight.
  5. Bake 350 degrees for 45 min-1hr.

Notes

  • Optional additions: diced cooked chicken/turkey, black olives, caramelized onions.
