A Dijon-based balsamic and red wine vinaigrette with optional fennel seed.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 c Balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp coarsely ground pepper
  • Optional: 1 tsp fennel seed, smashed

Steps

  1. Combine mustard, vinegars, water and sugar.
  2. Gradually whisk in oils till emulsified.
  3. Add salt, pepper and optional fennel.
  4. Refrigerate.
